Okay, so there are other ways of making money from home other than networking companies. Let’s talk about writing for money. Today is easier than ever to discover opportunities to write from home whether you’re an experienced writer or someone who just loves writing for a hobby.

One place that I think is pretty unique is called eHow. Basically, eHow allows people to write and get paid for writing “how to” articles on just about anything from “How to Kiss on a Date” to “How to Make Your Own Tartar Sauce”! It’s pretty cool and fun and takes minutes because of how it’s structured.
It’s free to join and without getting into too many details the more popular your articles are the more you get compensated. It also works as a social site so you are networking with people of like minds.
There are different tips on how to get your articles noticed. It’s very simple and easy especially for people new to writing or just wanting to look for new ideas. I have a written a few “how tos” on kids crafts and I am already seeing some money accumulate. It’s not much but if you focus on writing here it could eventually pay off.
Another great place I came across is Helium. Now, if you are a freelance writer, aspiring writer or have been submitting your articles (like I have) all this time for free to make a name for yourself on the Internet, Helium will actually pay you money for your articles. How it works is you can do it one of two ways. You can write what you’re interested in or your specialty is, like marketing. People rate you (you can rate others too) and you get noticed. Helium actually shares a portion of their revenue to writers who get good ratings on the site.
The other way you can take advantage of Helium is through the Marketplace section. I love this option. This section features publishers looking for articles and can pay anwhere from $20 to $200! Now, for freelancers, this can be a great find. I haven’t taken advantage of it yet, but I intend to, so if any of you out there have please let me know your experience.
Like eHow there is also a social community to connect with others so you do have that option to network and tips on writing. If you love writing and want to earn additional income from home, you can add these two options to your arsenal. Just remember, like anything else, it takes work and focus. If you want to make serious money writing from home get going!
Cheers to your success! Kelly :)
