Happy WAHM’s Day!

I remember the day I found out I was pregnant with my first son, Devin. I just walked around in a daze for awhile, I was both scared to death and excited because I had always wanted to be a mother and it was finally happening. “Now what do I do?” was all I could think. I have heard people always say you know when you will be ready to have children, but nothing can prepare you for the wild ride you are about to embark on as a mother.
That was about 5 years ago and my life has changed significantly since having my two children. Today, my life revolves around them, I write a blog for mothers, run a dayhome in order to be home with them and still socialize them, and I would literally give my life for them.
Although I still think being a mother is totally underrated. We play so many roles everyday that it’s difficult to figure out where we even get the time. I think it’s the most empowering experience to be a mother yet the most humbling. I mean, children definitely don’t come with instructions and the hardest parts of motherhood don’t seem to be found in the books. One minute I am changing poopie diapers and the next I am kissing boo boos. We are teachers, nurses, inventors, cooks, creators and birthday coordinators. And that’s just an example of how many roles we play in one day!
If you’re reading this post you’re most likely working from home too so that you can be with your children whenever they need. We’re the mothers who want it all but finding balance is a constant challenge.
So happy Mother’s Day to all you special moms out there. I know some days the challenge may seem undaunting but the reward of seeing your child everyday at anytime is totally worth it.
Cheers!
Kelly
