Although it still doesn’t feel like spring here with the never ending snow spells, it’s still the best time of year to rid your home of all the junk cluttering up every available space. Now, what if you could turn that stuff into cash and even instantly? Believe it or not some of those things you may no longer have use for other people may be searching the internet for, in fact, that’s how I found my double stroller when I couldn’t find the particular model I wanted in the stores. Everyone can use a little extra cash in their pockets and getting money for that junk can be a win-win situation.
Once upon a time, garage sales were the main options for cleaning out the old stuff to make room for the new but the Internet has opened up a whole new world for people as well as the increasing popularity of consignment shops.
Consignment shops or gently used clothing and toy stores can be a fantastic way to get money for items you need to get rid of or no longer have use for. We have several in our city that our wildly popular because there are so many young families here and there is a constant need for many children’s items. If you’re looking to make a significant profit however, find out the percentage the shops take and how busy they are for turnover time. Some will even give you the cash upfront or a credit receipt for other items if you already shop there. I find the shops fantastic for toys in our dayhome.
The Internet is awesome for turning junk into cash and of course if you have some knowledge of Ebay, that can be a fantastic way to turn a significant profit, in fact, many people make a full time living doing it! Some other sites that have become extremely popular are Craigslist and Kijiji. A have lots of mommy friends who have bought some great children’s items like highchairs, games, puzzles and a friend actually found her most recent car on Kijiji.
