Moms Prosperity Network - Summertime

Many people assume that summer is an off season in the networking world and take the season as a an excuse to slack or summer vacation.

Vacation? Who needs a stinkin’ vacation?!

The way I see it, summer is the perfect time to be networking because of this exact thinking! While the other slackers are, well slacking, you can take advantage of all the networking you can. Think about it, summer time is a great time to network not only on the phone but face to face at barbecues, summer festivals and weekends at the beach. And don’t forget to follow up! We have found that when we are following up with people in the summer we are often the only people who do.

Even when you are flying off to visit your family you tend to meet people in the airport, airplane and place of destination. Think about it. If you really are a networker, even if the majority of the time online, you are still prone to talking to people, it’s our nature. And summer is the time when people are usually more open to talking to others and open to new opportunities. So take advantage of it.

Another great part about networking in the summer is that it’s more casual and you don’t have to wear a suit, which is my thing. If I could get away with being barefoot, shorts and a cute top all year around I would. ;)  You obviously still want to look your best, but don’t overdo it and just relax and have fun!
