3 Easy Ways To Start In Affiliate Marketing

With the aid of the Internet, you can almost have everything right at your fingertips. With just a few clicks you get access to thousands and even millions of pieces of information and data on virtually any field of interest. As years pass by, the Internet continues to effect radical changes in many facets of human endeavors, including e-commerce. Experts say that the information space, commonly known as the “world wide web” grows by over a million pages everyday, as more and more people utilize the Internet for information, education, entertainment, business and other personal reasons. It doesn’t take a business-oriented individual to realize that this phenomenon can bring about sky-high financial gains. The Internet’s fast-growing popularity in the recent years is surely an opportunity for business that any entrepreneur would not want to miss.

You might be thinking only businessmen can make much money out of the Internet, don’t you? Think again. You too can earn big bucks through the Internet even if you don’t have products to sell and high-profile and established company. How? That is through affiliate marketing. You might have come across these words over the net while surfing. Affiliate marketing is revenue sharing between a merchant and an affiliate, who gets paid for referring or promoting the merchants’ products and services. It is one of the burgeoning industries nowadays because it is proven to be cost-efficient and quantifiable means of attaining great profit both for the merchant and the affiliate and other players in the affiliate program, such as the affiliate network or affiliate solution provider.

Affiliate marketing works effectively for the merchant and the affiliate. T o the first, he gains opportunities to advertise his products to a larger market, which increases his chances to earn. The more affiliate websites or hard-working affiliates he gets, the more sales he can expect. By getting affiliates to market his products and services, he is saving himself time, effort and money in looking for possible markets and customers. When a client clicks on the link in the affiliate website, purchases the product, recommends it to others who look for the same item or buys it again, the merchant multiplies his chances of earning. On the other hand, the affiliate marketer benefits from each customer who clicks on the link in his website and who actually purchases the product or avails of the service provided by the merchant. In most cases, the affiliate gets commision per sale, which can be fixed percentage or fixed amount.

If you want to be an affiliate marketer and make fortunes out of the Internet, you may follow the following three most basic and easiest ways to start an effective affiliate marketing program. First is to identify a particular thing you are interested in or passionate about so you won’t be bored and forced to develop your affiliate web site later on. Focusing on a specific area you know very well will help you bring out your best without much risks and effort. You can add a personal touch to your site and give your visitors who are possible buyers an impression that you are an expert in your field. In this way, you gain their trust and eventually encourage them to buy the products you endorse. Next is to look for good paying merchants and products or services related to your interest and create now a website. In choosing the products, you must also consider its conversion ratio, the number of visitors-turned-buyers. There are various affiliate networks and affiliate solution providers that can give you info on the most profitable products and best paying merchants. The key here is, be wise enough to choose the right one.

Now that you have decided where to concentrate, have chosen the products to endorse and the merchant you are supporting and have created your own web site with top level domain name and reliable hosting, you are ready to promote. This is a crucial task, since it is through this that you would be able to increase traffic to the business website, sales and of course, profit. In affiliate marketing, it is possible to earn large sums of money in a short span of time especially when you’re endorsing high-priced items. Expensive products are hard to sell; however, with the right marketing strategies and sales techniques, you can draw visitors to the merchant’s site and make them buy the products. How to promote the products, though, would need a separate discussion. Continue to educate yourself by reading books or other articles online about the best advertising techniques.

Keep in mind, there is no facile and quick path towards success. Affiliate marketing may seem very tempting due to numerous encouraging testimonies of merchants and affiliate marketers alike who have benefited from it, but it entails great deal of hard work and persistence. Likewise, you need to be creative, flexible and willing to embrace new ideas to market your partners’ products until you find the perfect strategy that works for a specific market that you are targeting. Neither signing up for an affiliate program nor copying ads and leading others towards the merchants’ site doesn’t guarantee success yet. Many affiliate marketers fail to understand this, so when they don’t make sales, they quit, look for other programs and repeat the same mistake. In the end, they conclude that affiliate marketing is just one of those scams in the Internet. Even as you sleep, you can work your way to great financial success if you employ the right strategies in affiliate marketing. Be creative, be smart and surely, you’ll achieve your goals.

Finding good work from home jobs for moms should be easy. With more and more people spending their money online and with the vast amount of information available on the internet it should be easy to start a home-based business for anyone, right?

Well, not “that” easy.

First, it’s true that it’s easier to get people to get their credit card out for anything they want online. But, there’s a whole lot of competition online. And to find good legitimate work from home jobs for moms can be pretty hard with all the scams out there.

So, how can one find this gem.

You can make money from your passions and skills. That should be your primary goal. Find a reputable company that has been in business for a few years. That will provide you with the following;

- Phone support, not the kind that you listen to voicemail each time you call.

- High quality training material (books, cd’s)

- Coaching program to really help you when you are stuck

Of course this will cost you money. But, you will save some time and frustration.

There’s many ways you can test if you think you have a great idea for work from home jobs for moms.

If you have a product you think you can sell profitably, try selling it on Ebay first. If there is demand and your product, you will see how much you can sell it for.

If you have an idea for a book or an ebook, you can check out Clickbank and see if there are similar info-products already selling in that category. If there more than one page of results in your niche, it is a good sign that people are making money and it is profitable.

You can try your hand at drop shipping. But with the growing popularity in many markets online, you better make sure you know a lot about your target market and make sure you can make a decent profit with the products you are looking to sell.

Work from home jobs for moms should be easy to manage. That is why selling info-products should be high on your list at first. Check affiliate directories for products in your line of interest.

Make it easy for you to find work from home jobs for moms and start building your income stream. After a while, you will get the hang of it and can start another one when you have developed a system to manage it only a few hours a week.

Avoiding Work at Home Scams

Avoiding Work at Home Scams

Working at home is the smart choice but always be careful as there are lots of scams out there nowadays.

If you need to make money at home, you’ve no doubt starting looking for work at home opportunities. Every woman who wants to become a Wahm has traveled down the same path. Unfortunately, that path is littered with scams and traps to take money and time from honest women looking to make money from home. With a little common sense and extra research, you can find legitimate work at home opportunities.

The first step is to search for jobs in the right places. Don’t simply click on ads to find work. Try to find helpful groups of Wahms who have successful work at home jobs to guide your search. You can try searching on message boards or finding e-mail groups for ideas of where to start your work at home job search. Many of these women can give you insight into which work at home opportunities are actually worth your time.

Keep in mind that there are no real ways to get rich quick on the Internet or by working at home. The only people who get rich are those who are scamming others. Never believe an ad or an employer who claims that you will get rich instantly.

There are also a few red flags to look for when you are searching for Internet jobs. You should never have to pay for work or job lists. There are plenty of free listings available that can provide tons of work at home opportunities. Companies that want to charge you for lists of jobs are just trying to get your money.

The lists are often filled with dead job leads, or lists of companies that want to charge you money. Many work at home scams will also require you to pay a start-up fee or cover the cost of necessary training. Again, legitimate jobs will never require you to pay them any money for you to work.

Another warning sign is if the ad or website tells you to act now. You should always do research before joining a company and never feel pressured to make a decision right away. Many websites are set up with text that says that the offer will expire on today’s date. But if you revisit that website the next day, the ad says that the offer expires on that day.

If you are unsure about a company, do some research on the Better Business Bureau website. The BBB has files on all businesses that have had complaints filed against them. You can see what other people have to say about a particular company and be steered away from scams.

There are some scams that have been around for years that should be avoided at all costs. These business scams have unfortunately been successful for the scammers, so they continue to take the money and time of hardworking Wahms. If you see an offer for any of the following types of jobs, run the other way.

Envelope stuffing is a common scam, although it is being seen less and less these days. These jobs are normally listed as mail service jobs, and then you are asked to pay for a start up kit. After you receive a start up kit, you are given instructions to place your own work at home ads. You basically just sell the start up kit to other people and become a scammer.

Craft assembly scams can take many forms. Typically, you receive a set of crafts to complete with instructions. You generally pay for the set and then are told you will be reimbursed for the kits and also paid for their assembly. After working hard at assembling the kits and returning them, you will be told that your work is not up to their quality standards. You will be out the cost of the kits, and they will sell your crafts anyway.

There are legitimate jobs out there for Wahms, but you have to do some research on the opportunities first. With a little time and careful analysis you can find a work at home job that will be rewarding and scam free.

Online Job Examples Work From Home

More and more people are choosing to work from home rather than in a traditional office setting. These individuals are reaping the benefits of more flexible hours and workloads, allowing them to spend more time with their families and doing what they enjoy. Today, there are several options on the Internet for those people interested in working from home in a variety of job fields and industries.

Some of the most popular and successful work-at-home jobs for unskilled and common workers are survey completion, research, price shopping, and responding to e-mails. For those individuals with more skills the jobs are even better and more plentiful. The most prevalent jobs are found in transcription, writing and design, computer programming, counseling, translating, and crafting. It is beneficial to obtain certification or career training in order to make more money and get better jobs.

One of the biggest concerns for individuals looking for work online is scam artists who try to get people to buy materials and other supplies with promises of better pay and good jobs. To avoid these types of scams, it is a good idea to never agree to pay for a service unless it is accredited by a well-known organization, preferably by the Better Business Bureau.

There are several helpful sites that offer work to individuals choosing to work from home. Jobsearch.about.com is an accredited site that lists jobs from various organizations that allow work to be completed from home. HEA Services offers over 2,500 work-at-home jobs listed on their database with over 1,000 new positions added annually. HEA allows people to submit their resumes for employers to look over and also lists specific jobs that individuals can browse to find the right one for them. HEA specializes in finding jobs in many different fields and allows users to search based on location and level of experience. JobBank USA is another helpful site allowing individuals to search for jobs and post their resumes. They have the added perk of including helpful resources that give examples of successful resumes and cover letters to help individuals get a job.

Some well-known companies are now allowing their employees to work from home and are providing work opportunities for individuals in need. The popular airline Jet Blue hires reservation specialists to book flights for customers online, right from their own homes, but requires at least two years experience in customer service. Another business is Key for Cash, who looks for experienced typists to enter data and other information for businesses that do not have the time or need for full-time employees. This type of work is easy, can usually be done on an individual’s own time frame, and pays decent. Working Solutions is a company that hires agents with good communication skills to do work for their various clients. They also have specific needs for multi-lingual people to communicate with their diverse client base. LiveOps is a networking company that hires agents to call people to try and sell their services. They have a special group that specializes in processing food deliveries to ensure accurate food orders. They also have a need for bilingual agents to make a variety of different sales calls in order to get the best and most accurate responses.

With a vast majority of at-home workers being women or stay-at-home moms, there have been several sites started that are geared specifically to these women. WAHM is an online magazine specifically designed for stay-at-home moms who have a desire to work. They offer helpful articles that give tips and advice on how to find work at home. They have job listings and other business opportunities specifically geared toward moms, along with a fun column from WAHM creator Cheryl Demas. The site also has links to other helpful sites. MommyEnterprises.com shows job opportunities for work at home jobs. They also help moms find bargains online and sites that provide freebies to stay-at-home moms. The site also links users to other moms so they can talk about jobs and give advice to those in need. Bizymoms.com is another great site that offers job searching services free of charge. They have vast contacts with successful women who have secured good careers while working at home. They allow users to network and talk to others to get the best advice.

Today there are more and more job opportunities becoming available to people wanting to work from home. With the help of useful websites, people can now network and search job listings to find the right job for them in the field of their choice. No matter the reason, whether it’s a desire to spend more time at home or a want for a more flexible schedule, people now have the option of staying at home while working a job.

Marketing Warriors

Are You Happy Being A Work At Home Mom?

I have a confession.

I’m a mostly-sane WAHM. I’m far from the ‘got it together’ work at home mom that I’d like to be.

I believe that there are a lot of women out there like me – clutching onto your sanity while juggling family, daily work requirements, basketball practice, ballet recitals, PTA meetings, and the many other responsibilities we carry on our shoulders.

If you’ve been a WAHM for more than a minute, you know the predicament we face. We chose to work from home so that we could spend more time with our children. This is great in theory. What happens, though is that we end up with no scheduled and defined work time, so it becomes a struggle to find time to spend with our kids. When you hear other people say “It must be so nice to work from home so you can spend time with your kids all day”, you roll on the floor laughing. If only it were so simple! Finding the balance between work and home can be a constant struggle especially when work IS home.

I remember the days when I worked out of the home in an office job. I had two separate and distinct compartments in my life. There was the office, where I could work in peace and quiet, focus on projects and be productive. And, then there was home, where I was able to focus on my children and have fun. I had scheduled working hours, and also distinct family time.

Now, I have the ‘hom-ffice’, an odd melding of home and office. The line between the two compartments is unclear. My office is now an extension of home. And, home is becoming an extension of my office.

Because of this dilemma, I find that I’ve got the focus of a gnat. Here’s how my work day goes.

I wake up, grab a cup of coffee, and sit in front of the computer to check my email. Fifty new messages. No problem. I get ready to tackle the first one.

“Dear Nicole, I was wondering if you might be interested in” …

“juice in a sippy cup, pretty please my pretty mommy?”

Whoa!! Ok, brain switch! I turn and look at my little girl who just crawled out of bed. She is a perfect picture of childhood, with her big brown eyes, sweaty wildly curly hair and big grin. I hug this rosy-cheeked angel and go to the kitchen to get juice. Then, I sit back down and attempt to read my email

“Dear Nicole, I was wondering if you might be interested in my new affiliate program selling” …

“the new Lego robot I built!”

Brain switch again. I swivel my office chair and see my son, his blue eyes twinkling, and his face beaming proudly, holding up his Lego creation. I ‘ooh’ and ‘ahhh’ over the new Lego invention — a robot that can climb walls. I rub his blonde head and tell him how wildly creative he is. He grins and goes back to Lego-building.

I swivel back to work, and try to get as much done as I can between the many interruptions, karate practice, dinner and bedtime stories. Oftentimes, late at night, you can find me working, while watching late night TV shows. My husband comes in to check on me. I swivel my chair to get my good-night kiss and I tell him that I just want to wrap up a few last projects. I stagger to bed late at night only to start again, before the kids wake up in the morning.

Are you seeing the pattern? Is there any wonder that I’m mostly-sane? Look at your own days and I’ll bet they are very similar to mine.

Despite the frazzled hours and days, and all the distractions, I love being a WAHM. The honest truth is that I wouldn’t trade my job for any corporate job in America.

However, as I meet more and more work at home moms, it’s becoming apparent that I’m not alone in my struggles. Other moms are setting expectations that are just not matching reality. What can we do about it?

1. Reclaim your office:

If you have one room that you can dedicate to your work, stake your claim on it. Clear out all toys and non-work items. Make your “hom-ffice” a real office. No more messing around with half a commitment to your business. Your office is your turf. Protect it.

2. Buy a timer:

If your children are old enough to understand the concept of time, invest in a timer. It’s a life saver. The next time you need uninterrupted working time, tell the kids that you’re setting the timer for 20 minutes. If they give you 20 minutes of uninterrupted work time, then reward them with quality time with you. Play a board game together or go to the park.

Set goals this month to reclaim your work area and your time, and you will take a step closer to being a happy, relaxed, and successful WAHM!

Writing Work At Home Moms!

Working at home as a writer is one of the largest work at home categories. Being a freelance writer has traditionally been a work at home job, and now that working at home is becoming more popular, there have been more writers in the industry. If you like to write and have a good grasp of the English language, you will never be at a loss for the work at home writing jobs.

Starting your career as a work at home writer is as easy as doing some Internet research and applying for a job. There are many ways to break into the writing field, even if you have no previous experience. Online opportunities abound, and there are still many writers who stay exclusively in the print market.

While many writers dream of one day writing the great American novel, most writers are realistic in knowing that they are going to have to do some other types of writing to get paid on a consistent basis. Writing for pay is mostly, if not exclusively, done in the non-fiction genre. While occasionally you will find contests for fiction writing or for poetry, these opportunities are few and far between when compared to the non-fiction opportunities.

Writing from home as a Wahm requires that you have a reliable Internet connection, good written communication skills and the ability to be a self-starter. As a writer, you will be in charge of your time and your projects. There will always be deadlines to meet and new writing opportunities to try. You will be responsible for balancing your writing with the rest of your life. You must also have the ability to research a wide variety of topics. As you accept assignments, you will be challenged to learn about and write about topics that you may have little experience in.

Freelance writing from home can break down into three specific areas: writing for print, writing for the web and blogging. Although blogging is technically writing for the web, there are many distinctions that make it different from other web writing opportunities.

Writing for print is what people generally think of when they hear the term freelance writer. Wahm writers who write for the print markets need to first build a reputation as reliable and eloquent writer. If you have never written for the print markets before, start with smaller, local publications and then work from there. You will need to find a list of publications that are accepting queries. Queries are a combination of a letter of introduction and a pitch for a story idea. Most writers rely on the Writers Market reference guide for lists of publications. The Writers Market has comprehensive information on a variety of newsletters, magazines and other publications that are taking queries. Start with topics that you know the most about and try writing a few queries to get yourself going in the print market.

The only drawback to writing for print is that the period between when you write and when you get paid can be months long. For many Wahms, this is just not feasible. Writing for the web, however, can meet their income needs and still allow them to write from home. There are many categories of writing for the web. You can be a ghostwriter for e-books or other Internet media. Many people need copywriters to provide content for their sales letters and websites. You can also offer your services to webmasters who need fresh content for their blog or newsletter. The opportunities are endless.

Blogging is yet another way to make money as a writing wahm. Blogs are an ever-growing form of Internet media. Blog writers generally provide their own content. You can make money as a wahm by starting your own blog and posting to it daily. If you love to write, you can start several blogs at once and multiply your earnings. Once you become an experienced blogger, you can apply for blogging jobs and post for other people.

Work at Home Moms (WAHMs) have to spend their time wisely in order to succeed – after all, they are working two jobs!  While building long term success requires some of that precious time upfront and an ongoing commitment to your business, the rewards are well worth it.

5 Tips for Long Term Success:

1. Create a business plan.  In order to achieve your dreams and goals, you must first write them down.  If you don’t know what you’re working towards, how can you measure your progress?  On average, approximately 67% of people have specific goals.  Of these 67%, approximately 10% actually have those goals written down as a business plan.  Surprisingly, only 2-3% of them go on to achieve their goals.

What did the 2-3% do differently?  Their written plans were more than a simple statement of their end goal.  You must go beyond that and break it out into the steps required to achieve your goals, including deadlines and benchmarks.  Once you determine what steps need to be taken, you also need to decide which tasks you can do yourself and which ones are better suited for outsourcing to a virtual assistant or some other resource.  You can’t do it all yourself.

2. Organize your workday.  Work in blocks of time rather than jumping from one thing to another throughout the day.  Multi-tasking has its virtues, but your entire workday shouldn’t be a juggling act.  Too much of a good thing can actually decrease your productivity due to errors and back-tracking.

How do you decide how to structure your day?  Keep a journal of your daily work activities for at least one week.  At the end of the week, sit down and review your notes to see which activities can be grouped into categories (e.g., writing blog articles, answering emails, social networking, etc.).  If you work with multiple clients, you can group the work you do for each of them into a block of time as well.

3. Find your target market.  There are literally thousands of marketing programs floating around online for entrepreneurs… it can be overwhelming.  Before you spend your hard earned dollars on the “latest and greatest” marketing plan on the web, do some good old-fashioned research.

Think about your target market – write it down.  Who are you selling your products or services to (include age range, geographic area, etc.)?  How does it help them solve their problems?  Do they belong to certain groups or forums online?  How do they find out about your product or services?  Who else is offering a similar product or service?  What makes your product or service unique?

4. Build trust and credibility.  Easier said than done, right?  The best way to accomplish this is by becoming an expert in your field.  Learn new skills, read articles, attend teleseminars and workshops.  Once you are confident in your own knowledge and skills, it’s easier to convey that confidence to others.  Write helpful articles, design your own teleseminars and workshops to educate people and share your insights.  Create and give away some free ebooks that have real value.  Communicate regularly with your customers through a blog or newsletter.  All of these things build trust through familiarity and by providing useful information to the people who need it.

5. Be patient.  Making a quick buck is always nice, but it shouldn’t take the place of your long term strategy.  If you try to “trick” people into buying second rate products or services just to rake in a few dollars, it will come back to haunt you.  It’s much better to slowly build up your customer base with people who like and trust you – they will reward your efforts by being repeat customers who refer all their friends and family to you.  Being a successful WAHM takes time, hard work, and persistence (Rome wasn’t built in a day!), but the long term benefits are worth all the “blood, sweat, and tears!”
